Opera and Popcorn Lecture Series

Dear Friends,

I am pleased to send along the course brochure for Opera & Popcorn: the 2025-2026 Edition.

The course line-up will have six online lectures, just as we had last year. A couple of the operas are new to me, so I look forward to researching them for our sessions. The MET is also doing a couple of new works, for which I have no access to. videos/recordings, so alas, I cannot explore those works with you.

For some of the lectures I had to schedule the lecture earlier than our tradition six-days-before-the-broadcast window. This December/January, I will be attending opera performances in Berlin, Leipzig, Dresden, and Prague. In March, I will be attending opera in Valencia. While I thought of delivering the lectures from those cities, the time difference, and the anxiety over wifi strength, made me re-think it. I hope that you will consider signing up once again for Opera & Popcorn.
